Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010!

Year 2009 is history and here comes year 2010. Everything happens in a blink of an eye. I guess time really do pass by fast and waits for no one. So what do you think of year 2009? Had it been a great year for you? Or had it been the worst year for you?

Well, I don’t know about you but year 2009 had been an amazing year for me. In fact, it was beyond amazing. The feeling is so great that I don’t even know how to describe it. 2009 was the most amazing year for me compared to the previous years. I’ve learned so many new things.

First of all, my relationship with God had definitely grew closer and stronger throughout the entire 2009. Although it was SPM (the most important examination in high school) year, but it’s still awesome! Of course in life, there are always ups and downs. But those downs I had just made me learnt to have faith in God more and to rely on His strength instead of relying on my own strength. What Pastor Sam said in the beginning of 2009 had motivate me throughout the entire year of 2009 and it always will. He said “It’s NOT about WINNING the race, but it’s about FINISHING it with the torch still BURNING in our hearts”.

There is also a song, “STILL” (one of the worship songs) that constantly reminds me throughout the SPM examination that it’s gonna be alright. Here’s the chorus part: “When the oceans rise and thunders roar; I will soar with you above the storm; Father, you are king over the floods; I will be STILL and know you are God”. It applies to each and everyone of us that whenever we’re in a situation, always remember to be ‘still’ and know that He is God; that he is bigger and more powerful than any of those situations we’re in. Sometimes, we tend to caught up with a lot of things that we may have forgotten about God. And all we need to do is to be ‘still’ for a moment.

I know that year 2010 will be another amazing year although now it’s only the beginning. It’s gonna be different because it will be my first year in college. The first year to experience college life. There will be so many things ahead of me waiting for me to explore. Who knows? Maybe it’ll turn out better than year 2009. As long as we are willing to have faith in God and allow Him to guide us, everything will turn out to be PERFECT!
