Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Lim Guan Eng came to Bayan Baru, Penang this morning to make an announcement about the details of changing status of landownership from lease hold to freehold during the dialogue with all Residents and Residents Association of PDC’s low and medium low cost flats. And that was a great way to start off the new year.

The event was hosted by the State Assemblyman of Pantai Jerejak, YB Sim Tze Tzin (our area’s ADUN) as Pantai Jerejak is the constituent with many low cost and medium low cost PDC Flats, estimated to be about 54 blocks. It was a good opportunity for the Residents to spend the first morning of New Year with the Chief Minister and discuss about public housing problems. There were also many people from other areas around the Bayan Baru vicinity attended the dialogue too.

And since the event was held just at the back of my house, I was curious and went over to find out more about it. There, I saw YB Sim Tze Tzin, Datuk Zahrain (Bayan Baru MP), and YB Ng Wei Aik (KOMTAR ADUN). The rest, I don’t know really who they were.

Here are some pictures taken by me during the event. more…

Giant Hypermarket which claimed to ensure that consumers pay the lowest prices may not be entirely correct. They may claim to offer low prices but it is not necessary true if you are not careful with the actual amount that you are paying for the items, as it is usually due to human errors.

I regularly shopped at Giant Hypermarket in Bayan Baru, Penang with my parents and have on many occasions came across huge price discrepancies between what is labeled on the shelf compared to what is paid at the counter. Sometimes the price discrepancies could even ridiculously go above RM10 per item. In the past, we used to just inform the sales assistant to get it rectified. But however, I have noticed that this is still happening and I thought it would be a good idea to inform the public about it so that they could be more careful. I know that these mistakes are not intentional but then it could still causes us to end up paying more.
