Sorry that I haven’t been blogging quite a while. Well, there are 2 things that I wanna blog about, so let’s get started!

First of all, this week is Assignment week, which means lots of assignments to pass up and a History test coming up. Usually a week before Assignment week, there will be tons of stuff to do and rushing to get things done. Surprisingly, this term there’s nothing much to do as most of the exercises are done in class and the lecturers would give us 2 weeks to complete our assignments. So, this week, all we’ll be doing is hand in the final assignment and sort out our files to make sure all of our exercises are there. After that, I’ll be having 2 weeks of term break starting next week!! I can’t wait! =)

Secondly, last Friday was Wii Friday and it was a blast!! For those who doesn’t know what it’s all about, well, it’s a youth event where all the youth cell groups will gather together. We have it frequently and each time there’s a Wii Friday, the cell group that host will create a theme and everyone will dress towards the theme. Last Friday, my cell group (J.Juniors) was hosting it and the theme was “Back To Preschool”. Everyone was suppose to dress and look like a kid and bring their favorite childhood toys (if they want to bring). To my amazed, everyone dress up (well, almost everyone)!! All of them look so cute. Some guys dress like a nerd with their pants up high while most of the girls tie two ponytails on their hair and brought a teddy bear with them. It was fun and crazy during games as some of the guys actually pretend to be a kid that they ask a lot of questions and make a lot of noise like kids do. So, what we, game masters did was, we treated them like kids asking them to put their finger on their lips and explaining the games like we’re explaining to kids. LOL. Here are some pictures taken by Rachel (our cell group leader). =p

Waiting to greet them as they walk in. From left, Joseph (he’s not in our cg, but he stands there for fun. XD), me, Tanya & John more…

Many people said that they miss school life all the time, but, what do they actually miss about school? After 9 months in college, I’ve realized what I miss about school. Some are big while mostly are just small, little things. Although it’s just small, little things, but it matters too because it’s these things that add up to create school life.

So, here are the 10 things I miss about school :

1) The long school holidays. Seriously, you don’t get much holidays when you’re in college. (Although there are 2 weeks break every term, but when comes to holidays like Raya or Deepavali, there’s only 1 or 2 days off. Not to mention there will be replacement on Saturday for these holidays).

2) The school itself. I haven’t gone back to visit the school since this year starts. I heard that there are some changes in the school and I can’t wait to go back one day to see it for myself. more…

Semester 1 has ended and my results were okay, I guess. It’s satisfying for now since it’s only Semester 1. But I need to push myself more if I wanna improve. Today is the first day of Semester 2. Got my new timetable and it’s pack with 6 different subjects! I’ll be having classes everyday starting from today. Not only that, I’ll also be having 4 periods of Drawing class on Wednesday! Entering Semester 2 is like entering a new level. I’m excited and nervous at the same time. I hope I’ll be able to do well this semester and that my grades will improve.

There are some new subjects to study this semester like Illustration Technique, more…

Went to Lang Tengah, Terengganu with family together with Beatrice and her family last Friday and was back on Sunday. We stayed at a resort called D’Coconut Lagoon and here’s what we did throughout the trip.

Thursday (17th June) – College ends at 6.30pm. Went home and pack up for the trip. Left Penang with 2 cars late at night, and reached Terengganu in the morning.

Friday (18th June) – Took a boat to Lang Tengah. The ride is about one hour. Reached Lang Tengah in the afternoon. Went snorkeling in the evening and played Monopoly with Beatrice together with her younger sister, Selene during the night.

Saturday (19th June) – Went hiking around the island in the morning, played UNO with Beatrice and Selene for a short while after lunch, went swimming in the evening, and played Scrabble with dad together Beatrice and her family at night. more…

This term, there are more subjects for us to study. One of the additional subject is Photography. Dad bought me a DSLR camera (Nikon D90) and my lecturer, Mac Tan would take us outing during Photography lesson for us to take some shots. Today, we went to Chowrasta Market to take some documentary pictures. It’s the 1st time I experience using DSLR camera to take pictures. Here are the pictures taken just now and for those who have not been to Penang, this is how Penang market looks like.

On the way to the market. It’s just a few minutes walk from college. =)

Last Tuesday (13th April 2010), Mr Melvin, our Drawing lecturer took us to Esplanade to draw. It’s a little different than drawing in class because there were so many people passing by trying  to take a look on our drawing. But it’s an interesting experience. At least we don’t have to draw in class all the time. That would be boring. I hope we can get to draw more outside of the classroom.

Wow!! Time do pass by fast. Just a blink of an eye and it’s already February! I know my last update was in January. Well, here are some updates on what’s going on.

- College is still great! Had my 1st assignment to do and it’s due on week 8, which is next 3 weeks. For 2D and Colour Studies, we are required to make a carrier (to put things inside. For example, a bag, a box…etc…). For Drawing class, we need to draw a pile of oranges and also a handkerchief. And for Computer Studies, we need to design a milk carton.

- Followed my dad to PECC (Penang E-Community Club) last 2 Friday and helped out by guiding the senior citizen on using Facebook. Bernice was the teacher and the volunteers including me were there to help. I’m gonna teach them about blogging soon! (^.^) more…

Time pass by so fast as it is now the middle of January 2010 and I’m in college!! How awesome is that?! Wondering which college and course I chose? Well, I’m studying at Equator Academy of Arts doing Graphics & Multimedia Design. At first, I never thought that I would choose this course and that I would be interested in it. It just came to me. I guess God had answer my prayers on which direction to go after high school. Thank God for that because I’m loving it there!!

This course doesn’t require any books which means I don’t have to study or memorize anything. It only requires creativity. There’s no exams to stress myself and definitely no “last minute studies”. Marks will be given in every work I’ve done in the class and will be added up at the end of the term as my exam grade. Cool huh?? Now there are only 3 subjects to learn because the course will only begin in March. So for the January intake students, we are now learning the basic. For example,  subjects like Drawing by Mr. Melvin Arlegui, 2D and colour studies by Mr. Chris Choo and Computer studies by Mr. Collin Teng. I never like drawing and painting because I’m not good at it but after attending these classes, I’m starting to like it. In fact, I enjoy every lessons of every classes. more…

Since it’s a long holidays, dad arrange golf lessons for my brother and me at the Bukit Jambul Country Club. Both of us have been junior golf members there for some time but so far we have been only using the pool. It would really be a waste to the golf membership if we don’t know how to play golf.

Our first lesson started on Tuesday (15/12/09) and the coach was Mr SS Goon. It was kinda fun but very tiring. Mr Goon taught us about the position and also how to swing. When I reached home, my whole body started to ache and is still aching a little now. But overall, it was not bad. It’s really fun when you manage to hit the balls. Once we know how to play, we are planning to start golfing with my dad in the morning now that schooling is over for me. He has stopped playing golf for a few years as he has no golf kaki to play with him in the morning when all his friends are working. Once we know how to play, we will then be his golf kaki.

Today is our school’s graduation day. It is also the last day of school for all of us, form five students. Many teachers and students cried just now in school. It’s the last day to share our laughter and tears. The last day to enjoy school life before going out to the “real world”. After the assembly, the teachers gather around and we all (form five students) shook hands with all the teachers. Some teachers even gave us a hug and wish us all the best in everything we do in the future. It is a very sad day as they had been here with us for 5 years. After shaking hands with the teachers, we took pictures with our friends and not to mention our teachers too. Time pass by so fast and it is sad to say that this is the end of high school. And in a few more days, we will be sitting for SPM examination which is the most important and the final exam in high school. After that, we will all be going to our separate ways. Some of us may not even be in Penang anymore and we’ll hardly see each other. Only the memories will remain. Here are the pictures taken in school just now. But before that, I would like to share this video too. It’s a great song for today. (^.^)
